Being outside Harris County changes the service call
The practical reality of a Liberty County address is that fewer companies make the trip, which means longer waits in midsummer and fewer realistic options for a second opinion. That is worth naming plainly, because it changes how you should approach a big repair or replacement quote out here.
We do make the drive, and we answer the phone 24 hours a day at (713) 929-9595. We are not going to invent an arrival time for a web page. Call and we will tell you what the day actually looks like for your address.
Older rural housing stock
Out here you find houses that were built long before central air conditioning and then added onto over decades: a room here, an enclosed porch there, a bathroom off the back. Almost none of those additions came with a matching expansion of the duct system, so the house has capacity in the original rooms and nothing meaningful in the newer ones.
Older homes on pier and beam foundations also run duct under the floor, in a crawl space that is neither sealed nor protected. That duct gets crushed, comes apart at joints and attracts animals. A disconnected under floor duct dumps everything you are paying for into the dirt, and from inside the house it looks like an air conditioner that has stopped keeping up.
Dust, open land and airflow
Open and agricultural land means more airborne dust and pollen reaching your return than a shaded suburban street produces, and a gravel or dirt drive adds to it. Filters load faster here, and a loaded filter is not a minor inconvenience. It starves airflow across the evaporator coil, and a starved coil gets cold enough to ice over.
Once a coil ices over the system stops cooling, and you cannot see the problem without opening the unit. Check the filter more often than the box recommends. If the outdoor line is frosted, turn cooling off, leave the fan running to melt it, and call.
Getting a straight answer the first time
Because a second opinion out here means another long wait, we tell you what we found, what it costs and what your options are before we start. If a repair beats a replacement, we will say so.
