Our Guarantees

This page does not list terms, and that is intentional. Guarantee and warranty coverage depends on the equipment, the work performed and the manufacturer, and printing a general promise on a web page is how homeowners end up with an expectation that does not match their paperwork. Call (713) 929-9595 and we will tell you what applies to your job.

There are usually three separate things in play

The first is the manufacturer warranty on the equipment itself, which comes from whoever built the unit and has its own terms, its own duration and usually its own registration requirement. The second is coverage on the labor and workmanship of the installation or repair, which comes from the contractor. The third is any specific commitment a company chooses to make on top of those.

Those three are frequently discussed as though they are one thing, which is where confusion starts. When you are comparing contractors, ask which of the three you are being quoted on, because a long sounding number attached to the wrong one of them means very little.

Why registration matters more than people realize

Most manufacturers require new equipment to be registered within a set window after installation in order to receive the full warranty period. Miss the window and the coverage often drops to a shorter default. This is one of the most common ways homeowners quietly lose years of coverage they believed they had.

Ask your installer, whoever that is, whether registration was completed and ask for confirmation. Then keep it with your paperwork.

What to ask for in writing

Ask for the specific terms that apply to your equipment and your work, in writing, before you approve the job. Ask what is covered, what is excluded, how long each element lasts, whether coverage transfers if you sell the house, and what the process is if you need to use it.

That is a reasonable thing to ask any contractor for, and any contractor unwilling to put it in writing has told you something useful about themselves.

Getting our current terms

Call (713) 929-9595. We are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Tell us what work you are considering and we will tell you exactly what coverage applies, and we will put it in writing with the estimate rather than describing it verbally.

Common questions
  • Because they vary by equipment, by manufacturer and by the specific work, and published general terms tend to become out of date. Rather than post something that might not match your actual paperwork, we will give you the current terms for your job. Call (713) 929-9595 and ask.

  • Usually not by itself. A manufacturer warranty typically covers the part, while labor to diagnose and install that part is a separate matter. That distinction is the source of most warranty disappointment, so it is worth confirming which one you have before something breaks.

  • Sometimes, often with conditions and sometimes with a transfer window or fee set by the manufacturer. If you expect to sell, raise it before the equipment is chosen, because it can influence which system makes sense for you. Ask us and we will find out the specifics for the equipment you are considering.
