Air Star Now — Cooling and Heating
Right now, any hour

Emergency HVAC service in Houston

No cooling in August, no heat in a freeze, or something that smells wrong. Call and a technician picks up, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

While you wait

Four things worth doing before we arrive

  • 01Turn the system off at the thermostatIf it is running but not cooling, leaving it on can freeze the coil and turn a small repair into a bigger one.
  • 02Check the breaker onceIf a breaker has tripped, reset it one time. If it trips again, leave it off and tell us. Repeated tripping is an electrical fault, not a nuisance.
  • 03Look at the filterA completely blocked filter can stop airflow entirely. If it is grey and packed, that is worth mentioning on the call.
  • 04If you smell gas, leave firstGet everyone out of the house, then call the gas utility from outside. Call us after the utility has made it safe.

If you smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide, leave the building first and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Do not wait for an HVAC technician to make a gas leak safe.

Common questions
  • Yes. A technician answers, not an answering service taking a message. That is the whole reason the number is on every page of this site.

  • Pricing is quoted before any work begins, and that includes any after-hours difference. You will hear the number before anyone starts.

  • No cooling in Houston summer heat, no heat during a freeze, a burning smell, water coming from the indoor unit, or a system that trips a breaker every time it starts. If you are unsure, call and describe it.

  • It depends on where you are and what is already in front of us, and we will give you an honest window on the call rather than a number designed to make you hang up happy.
