About Air Star Now

What You Can Expect From Us

Most people calling an HVAC company are not comparison shopping. Something has failed, the house is uncomfortable, and they want to know what is wrong and what it costs. Here is how that goes with us, so there are no surprises in it.

When you call

A person answers. Air Star Now is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week at (713) 929-9595, and that is not a voicemail box with a promise attached to it. Whoever picks up will ask what the system is doing, how long it has been doing it, and what kind of home you have, because a manufactured home, a three story townhome and a fifty year old ranch need different things on the truck.

Before anyone is dispatched, you will know what the visit costs. If we cannot get to you quickly, we will say so plainly rather than booking you into a window we already know we will miss.

When the technician arrives

The first thing that should happen is questions. What changed, when it changed, what you have already tried. Homeowners usually know more about the pattern of the failure than any single measurement will reveal, and skipping that conversation is how a technician ends up replacing the wrong part.

Then the actual diagnosis: measurements at the equipment, at the electrical, and at the air side. We are looking for the cause rather than the first thing that looks broken. A failed capacitor is worth knowing about, but so is the reason it failed.

Before any work starts

You will hear what we found, in language that is meant to be understood rather than to sound impressive, and what it will cost. If there is more than one reasonable path, you get both, including the tradeoffs, including the case where the cheaper repair is the sensible move.

If replacement is genuinely the better value, we will explain why and show you the numbers next to each other. If it is not, we will tell you that too. We are trying to be the company you call again in four years, and overselling one job is a bad way to get there.

After the work

You should know what was done and what to watch for. If the underlying issue is something the repair does not solve, like an undersized return or duct leaking into the attic, you will hear about it as information rather than as pressure. Whether you act on it is up to you, and it does not have to be today.

Common questions
  • Yes. You will hear what we found and what it will cost before any work begins, and you approve it. If a technician opens something up and discovers the situation is different from what the symptoms suggested, that becomes a new conversation rather than a line item you find out about at the end.

  • Call (713) 929-9595 and we will tell you exactly what a visit costs for your situation before we dispatch anyone. Rates depend on the type of call and the time, so we would rather quote you honestly on the phone than post a number here that may not apply to you.

  • Get one. A significant repair or a replacement is a large purchase and you are entitled to compare. Ask each company for their license number, ask what specifically failed and how they determined it, and compare like for like on equipment rather than on the total at the bottom.
